How to Become an ADHD Coach in 2025: A No-BS Guide to Building a Sustainable Business

I get at least one DM a week asking me to “pick my brain” about starting an ADHD coaching business. And while I absolutely love this community and want to help everyone succeed, I can’t possibly hop on calls with everyone who reaches out. That’s exactly why I’m writing this guide—to give you the complete lowdown on building a successful ADHD coaching business in 2025.

First things first: I’ve been in this game for about four years now. While it’s not my first business rodeo, it’s definitely my first successful one. And let me tell you, the landscape has changed dramatically, especially with AI and the explosion of digital coaching platforms. But here’s the good news—there’s still plenty of room for coaches who do it right.

The State of ADHD Coaching in 2025

Here’s what you need to know: The ADHD coaching industry is booming, largely thanks to the surge in adult diagnoses. More people than ever are seeking help to navigate life with ADHD, and they’re looking for shortcuts to build systems that actually work for their brains.

But there’s a catch (isn’t there always?).

The traditional one-on-one coaching model is becoming increasingly unsustainable. Why? Two main reasons:

  1. It’s incredibly expensive for clients
  2. It’s exhausting for coaches (especially us introverts!)

Sure, there are ADHD coaching apps popping up left and right that offer lower rates, but let’s be real—they’re missing the crucial human connection that makes coaching truly transformative. ADHD folks need emotional investment to make progress, and that’s hard to get from an app.

Finding Your ADHD Coaching Focus (The Right Way)

Want to know why most ADHD coaches fail in their first few years? They’re trying to help everyone. (If you’re curious about the other reasons and want to avoid them, grab my free guide to 27 high-growth ADHD coaching niches here.)

When I started, I did what most coaches do—tried to be everything to everyone. But I quickly learned that I needed to narrow my focus to areas where I had real, lived experience. For me, that meant focusing on entrepreneurs and corporate professionals because that’s where my expertise lay.

You don’t need to be an expert in everything (thank goodness!), but you should be able to:

  • Anticipate your clients’ pain points
  • Speak their language
  • Draw from your own experiences
  • Offer genuine empathy and understanding

Building Your Business Foundation

Let’s talk practical steps. Here’s what you need to focus on first:

1. Choose Your Business Name Strategically

In 2025, I strongly recommend picking a business name rather than using your personal name. But here’s the key—make it specific to your target audience or the problem you solve. This helps with both SEO and social media discoverability.

2. Create Your Coaching Framework

Start simple. There’s nothing wrong with offering basic one-hour sessions or small packages while you find your feet. Pay attention to:

  • Common complaints from clients
  • Patterns in their struggles
  • The language they use to describe their challenges
  • What triggers their pain points

3. Scale Smart with Group Programs

This is where the magic happens. Once you understand your audience’s needs, consider creating:

  • Small group coaching programs (4-8 people)
  • Digital courses or templates
  • Community-based coaching programs

I’ve recently launched my ADHD Reset program with about 75 people, which honestly blew my mind. I used Skool as our coaching and community platform (think Facebook minus the drama), and it’s working beautifully for combining pre-recorded content with live coaching sessions.

Marketing That Actually Works

Here’s some real talk about marketing in 2025:

Instagram might be the modern-day Yellow Pages, but don’t count on it for growth unless you’re ready to invest in ads. Instead, focus on:

  1. Building an Email List (Non-Negotiable) I email my list every Sunday with my “Sunday Setup,” sharing my weekly insights, content, and thoughts. It’s my most valuable marketing channel, hands down.
  2. Creating Valuable Content Whether it’s YouTube, podcasts, or blogs, pick ONE platform and show up consistently. Just make sure your content directly addresses your niche’s specific challenges.
  3. Developing Your Community The future of coaching is community-based. People aren’t just buying information anymore—they want connection and support from others who get it.

Essential Tools for Success

To streamline your business (because hello, we have ADHD too!), I recommend checking out my Coach Hub Planner and Template. It includes all my go-to systems for:

  • Content creation
  • Offer creation + program development
  • Client management
  • Business organization
  • Time management

The Most Important Thing

Here’s what I really want you to understand: building a successful ADHD coaching business isn’t about hustling harder or “grinding” until you make it. It’s about showing up to serve your community consistently and authentically.

I work almost seven days a week by choice (not full days!), and I love what I do. But it took me nearly four years to approach my previous corporate income. This isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme—it’s a commitment to making a real difference in people’s lives.

Ready to Get Started?

If you’re serious about building a sustainable ADHD coaching business in 2025, your first step is getting crystal clear on your niche. I’ve put together a free guide outlining 27 High-Growth ADHD Coaching Niches based on current market research and demand. These aren’t just random ideas—they’re viable business opportunities waiting for the right coach.

The one last thing I need to say is that success in ADHD coaching isn’t about following someone else’s exact blueprint—it’s about creating a business that works with your brain while serving your community effectively. I certainly don’t claim to know it all, but this is what has worked for me, so I wanted to share what I’ve learned.

I hope it helps!
