If you’re an ADHD coach (or aspiring to be one), you might be making a common mistake that’s holding you back: thinking that “ADHD coaching” is your niche. Here’s the truth – ADHD coaching isn’t a niche, it’s a profession.

The Real Cost of Being a Generalist
When you try to speak to everyone with ADHD, you end up truly connecting with no one. Generic messaging like “I help people with ADHD” gets lost in the noise. Think about it – in a world where potential clients are scrolling through dozens of ADHD coaches, what makes you stand out?
Why Niching Down Changes Everything:
- Your marketing becomes laser-focused and more cost-effective
- Perfect-fit clients instantly recognize themselves in your message
- Your content resonates deeper with your specific audience
- Your advertising costs decrease because you’re targeting more precisely
- Referrals become easier because people know exactly who to send to you
- You build expertise faster in your specific area
The Growth Factor
When you choose a specific niche:
- You become the go-to expert in your chosen area instead of a generalist in a crowded market
- Your messaging becomes clearer and more compelling
- Your marketing costs decrease while your conversion rates increase
- You can command higher rates because of your specialized expertise
Through extensive market research and data analysis, I’ve identified 27 high-growth niches within ADHD coaching that show significant potential across a variety of areas, including
- Work + entrepreneurship
- lifestyle + family
- Highly specific (but growing areas) in healthcare and technology
The Power of Precision (and Simplicity)
Think about it like this: If you were having heart problems, would you rather see a general practitioner or a cardiologist? The cardiologist might treat fewer patients overall, but they’re the go-to expert for their specific problem.
The same principle applies to ADHD coaching. When you niche down:
- Your ideal clients can find you more easily
- Your marketing message becomes crystal clear
- You build deeper expertise faster
- Your business grows more sustainably
Not only are these powerful reasons alone, one of the best things I’m seeing as I continue to refine my niche, is that it’s just more simple. I don’t have to think about different segments, or position things in a confusing way to appeal to everyone.
The simplicity of being in a niche is something I don’t think we talk about enough (but I will definitely talk more about!).

Don’t be Afraid to Niche Down Your ADHD Coaching Practice
Choosing a niche isn’t about limiting your practice – it’s about amplifying your impact by helping you speak directly to the people you can help most effectively. I know it might feel scary – as though you’re saying “no” to potential clients (and income), but the opposite is happening. You are saying YES to the clients you really want, by standing out, making a clear statement about who you are for (and who you are NOT for) and becoming the best in your niche.
P.S. If you’re still worried – you can always expand your services later, but it’s much harder to build momentum when your message is too broad. The most successful ADHD coaches I know started gaining real traction only after they got specific about who they serve.
